What is the GPSDC
The Greater Phoenix Swing Dance Club is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1982
established to promote West Coast Swing dancing and to provide for its growth and
development in the community and elsewhere.
What is our purpose
-
Provide a forum where members can meet regularly to learn, practice, develop, foster
and otherwise enjoy West Coast Swing Dancing.
-
Conduct classes to teach West Coast Swing Dancing and improve the standards of the
dance.
-
Promote the interest, support, and involvement of its members and the public in West
Coast Swing Dancing.
-
Hold dances, functions, and meetings on a regular scheduled basis to increase membership
and maintain and expand the participation of members.
-
Join with other clubs in exchanging ideas, attending their conventions and functions,
fostering inter-club relationships and encouraging national recognition of Swing Dancing
as a unique American dance form.
The club holds weekly Sunday night dances with beginning lessons at 5:00 PM and Intermediate
lessons at 6:00 PM followed by a social dance from 7:00 PM until 10 PM. A partner
is not required. The cost is only $7.00 for nonmembers and $4.00 for members, which
includes the lessons and admission to the dance. A one-year GPSDC membership costs $30.
